Indian Groundnuts

Groundnuts, commonly known as Peanuts, goober peas or Moongfali in Hindi, are the major oil seeds in India. India being the 2nd largest groundnuts producer in the world, major regional contributors in India are Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra. More than 70% of the crop is harvested in September-October and remaining in the months of February-March. Groundnut kernels are around 75% of weight when in the shell and the oil recovery is more than 40%.
